“Life is not fair.” It is a saying that most are familiar with because it is a reality that all have experienced. Some experience injustice in big life altering ways, others face it by way of small slights and distrustful glances. Injustice can be the result of racism, socio-economic circumstances, grudges, or even family drama. But it is an experience all have had in one way or another.
And because all have experienced it, all know the damage it can create. Beyond any particular experience or system, there is also the lingering emotional and psychological toll. Injustice cuts at a person’s sense of self-confidence. It limits a person’s ability to trust others or to trust authorities of all sorts. But there is still one ultimate and absolute Judge who sees all and will make things right.
